NEW MUSIC!!!

Okay... I got new music for you.  I promise I am getting on a better schedule of posting material.  Today...
My big sis, Tweet is giving you a lovely neo-soul twist on a CLASSIC Aretha Franklin 1972 hit, "Day Dreaming".  I love when people cover this song, it's such a pliable song that lends itself to some serious vocal liberty.  I've enjoyed every version that I've heard... but this is special because Tweet is so smooth and her vocals soar in away that makes this rendition particulary memorable.  It resonates -- and gets you excited for what new music she has for us.  Take a listen!

Usher is giving a nod to retro R&B infused with pop twist.  The beat reminds me of a toned-down Beyonce's "Run the World", I like the way Usher delivers this with that retro vibe.  Even the placement of the melody line is a testament to a time that people have forgotten about.  One word describes this song will make you feel perfectly: nostalgic!

Say what you want to about Estelle, she has some memorable songs, and her voice is a truly unique vessel that just seems to work for industry.  Well, for those of you that need a boost in your summer music collection, Estelle has decided to bless us with a mixtape. You'll find that this mixtape has a few familiar favorites.  Go ahead and download it... you know you want to.

Now... we haven't heard from our girl Ciara in awhile!  She's been busy ... she certainly has maintained visibility but kept a low music-related profile.  Well, she stepped out today and has a new song entitled, "Sweat" feat. 2 Chainz.   That alone - made me want to listen.  I felt like it was going to be a track that you gotta be able to dance to, and it was going to be extremely catchy with a simple melody line (I know some of you are thinking, "SHOTS FIRED"... *shrug*).  And guess what?  It was just as I thought.  BUT -- the production on this joint... #DOPEtotheNthDegree!   Mark my words: YOU WILL HEAR THIS IN THE CLUB this summer and BEYOND!

  1. Great Post! Now I love me some Tweet, and her rendition was one of the best ones I have heard, although I loved when Tamia covered it as well. But Tweet made it her own :) I love Usher, he is always bringing the heat! Estelle is a gem, her stage presence though in live shows leaves something to be desired, but I can roll listening to her any day. But Miss Ciara, I am not impressed. I guess I am just waiting for her to grow up musically...
