Paydays should be more like these new gems that I've found.
Greta Prince... what can I say. There is something extremely captivating about her voice. She conveys so much sincerity, and her voice has such a rich texture to it. As the winner of the latest R&B Starr Contest, Greta drops "You Should Know", her latest single. I like the track -- it balances her voice well, and adds a degree of irony that I think is missing in some music today. In any case, take a listen!
So Chris Brown is broadening his horizons by signing this new artist, Joelle James. She's kinda dope. She reminds me of a cross between Dawn Richard and JoJo. Vocally, she sounds great - and the track really fits the title of the song. I like the feel - it's both thought provoking, and got a lil beat that makes me wanna groove. Decide for yourself, but I like "Fading Away".
Joelle James feat. Chris Brown - "Fading Away"
This KID is a walking monster. The power of his voice reminds me when Mario was younger. However, this kid ... SMH... I can't describe what happened when ThisIsRnB.com introduced Ahsan to me. He took a WRECKING ball to a classic, "Who's Loving You". As a self-proclaimed church boy who has a lineage of singers, he plays NO game. I cannot WAIT til this kid gets the shine that he needs. WHEW... if you don't believe me, hit 'PLAY' on this Youtube clip!

HOT NEW Music this Week
Love this new music that Tweet is giving us. She is letting EVERYONE have it. All the new releases from Tweet tells me: "Y'all thought I was gone... *insert laugh here*... I still got IT and a few more tricks up my sleeve." Check this joint out!
*Clears throat* "Faaaaather can you hear me?" ... Lil Tiffany Evans has grown up. And she is doing her good singing. I love a good female ballad. And if this is what we can expect from her in the future, I'm buying. Shoutout to Tiffany for reintroducing the soul ballad to a generation that has no recollection of it. Let's hope she's relevant enough for this song to get the rotation that it deserves.
So Frank Ocean is also at it with the promotion of his project due out this summer. Check out this lil 9 minute teaser. I support what he's trying to do. I like it a lot actually...

NEW MUSIC!!!
Okay... I got new music for you. I promise I am getting on a better schedule of posting material. Today...
My big sis, Tweet is giving you a lovely neo-soul twist on a CLASSIC Aretha Franklin 1972 hit, "Day Dreaming". I love when people cover this song, it's such a pliable song that lends itself to some serious vocal liberty. I've enjoyed every version that I've heard... but this is special because Tweet is so smooth and her vocals soar in away that makes this rendition particulary memorable. It resonates -- and gets you excited for what new music she has for us. Take a listen!
Usher is giving a nod to retro R&B infused with pop twist. The beat reminds me of a toned-down Beyonce's "Run the World", I like the way Usher delivers this with that retro vibe. Even the placement of the melody line is a testament to a time that people have forgotten about. One word describes this song will make you feel perfectly: nostalgic!
Say what you want to about Estelle, she has some memorable songs, and her voice is a truly unique vessel that just seems to work for industry. Well, for those of you that need a boost in your summer music collection, Estelle has decided to bless us with a mixtape. You'll find that this mixtape has a few familiar favorites. Go ahead and download it... you know you want to.
Now... we haven't heard from our girl Ciara in awhile! She's been busy ... she certainly has maintained visibility but kept a low music-related profile. Well, she stepped out today and has a new song entitled, "Sweat" feat. 2 Chainz. That alone - made me want to listen. I felt like it was going to be a track that you gotta be able to dance to, and it was going to be extremely catchy with a simple melody line (I know some of you are thinking, "SHOTS FIRED"... *shrug*). And guess what? It was just as I thought. BUT -- the production on this joint... #DOPEtotheNthDegree! Mark my words: YOU WILL HEAR THIS IN THE CLUB this summer and BEYOND!
